About us

India’s First Social Shared Wardrobe

SWRL is a fashion rental and reselling app where style, community, and sustainability come together.

On SWRL, you can save money by renting and buying the pieces you love, and earn money by lending and selling the ones you don’t. Every item lives more than one life, and every exchange connects you to someone new.

It’s more than a fashion app; it’s a community. A place to discover your style, share your wardrobe, meet like-minded people, and make fashion more affordable, accessible, and planet-friendly.

Welcome to SWRL: where sharing looks good on everyone!

Our Mission

Our mission is to truly transform the way India consumes fashion.

Our Vison

Our vision is to build a self-sustaining community of fashion lovers where people not only share their wardrobes but also share ideas, cultures and experiences.

Join the SWRL revolution – fashion that’s not only stylish but also conscious and connected.

Founder's note

The idea for SWRL, India’s first social shared wardrobe, came from an all too common first-world problem: the wear once mentality. A closet full of clothes, a budget that keeps stretching… yet somehow nothing to wear.

My racks were overflowing, my spending was increasing, and the wear-once mentality had quietly taken over. I knew this cycle wasn’t sustainable, not for me, not for the planet, and not for the way we’re meant to experience fashion.

Growing up, we all learned the value of sharing.

Clothes passed between sisters, cousins, and friends. Borrowing outfits before a big event felt natural and even fun. But somewhere along the way, as life got busier and fashion got faster, we forgot how joyful and sustainable sharing really is.

Yet even now, before every party or occasion, girls still call their closest friends to swap outfits, exchange opinions, and hype each other up. That sense of community never left; it just needed a home.

And that’s when I wondered:

What if I had more friends in my size?

What if strangers were just future friends I hadn’t met yet?

What if sharing wardrobes could be safe, easy, affordable, and even help us earn?

That was the beginning of SWRL.

SWRL brings together everything I wanted fashion to be: affordable, accessible, sustainable and most importantly, connected.

This is more than an app. It’s a movement towards circular fashion in India, towards closets that create community rather than clutter, towards a world where style is shared with intention.

Thank you for being here.

Thank you for choosing to wear differently, live sustainably, and join the future of fashion with SWRL!

Testimonials

I joined SWRL because my friend wouldn’t stop talking about it.
Now I’m the friend who won’t stop talking about it. Found pieces I haven’t even seen in stores, including a bag I thought only existed on Pinterest.
Also, apparently, strangers (who have become besties) love my wardrobe more than I do, because my clothes keep getting booked.
My mom thinks I’m running a side business now.

10/10 would recommend.

SWRL is the best thing created ever for a hoarder like me. I can’t seem it get rid of my designer pieces, and why should I? They are beautiful, have memories attached to them and are expensive. So, ofcourse, when I got to beta test the SWRL app, I was over the moon. The idea of lending my pieces to fellow girlies, making some extra income out of it, without having to throw out my favourite pieces, doesn’t get better than this.

SWRL had unlocked a side of me I wasn’t aware existed. The one who experiments with different styles and silhouettes, I never thought would be for me, just because I can try them and return them as I wish. In three weeks, I have rented designer dresses and corsets I never thought I’d be comfortable in and the rarest, most beautiful bags ever.

SWRL feels like girls getting ready together before a night out, and we all know that’s the real fun part of the night.

I am a thrift girlie through and through. But one space which I had always felt lacking was luxury fashion rental. With SWRL, my problem was solved. I got to wear designer pieces I have been eyeing forever without any commitments and lend my wardrobe to grilies just as obsessed with fashion. Not only that, but I also got my hands on the limited-edition gradient blue LV Fecile pochette bag I have been looking for everywhere. It honestly feels like a treasure to get my hands on a lot of items which aren’t available in stores anymore.

If someone had told me a month ago, I’d go out of my comfort zone and try different silhouettes and colours, I’d have laughed in their face. Now, though, with SWRL, it somehow feels safer trying them out, exciting even. Mostly because I can just rent a piece I want to try and return it without the commitment, but also because renting and lending pieces on SWRL feels like girls collectively building this massive shared wardrobe we all get to play dress-up in.

I’m so glad I had the chance to beta test the SWRL app, as it combines both finance and fashion. In just three weeks, I have lent out six items from my wardrobe and earned around rupees 26,750 by renting them.

SWRL has quickly become my favourite app on my phone. In just three weeks, I’ve somehow ended up forming real connections, the kind you don’t expect from an app. Women sharing wardrobe hacks, telling the stories behind their clothes, hyping each other up… it’s so wholesome and community-driven. I love it!

I got to beta test the SWRL app recently, and it truly has changed the way I feel about my wardrobe. I have met some incredible women along the way, and shared not just my wardrobe, but also my styles, stories, and experiences with them. With wedding season being such a big deal in India, I rented Indian occasionwear from SWRL.

I love that SWRL has a great collection of designer dresses, bags, heels and Indian occasion wear as well, great for the wedding season in India. Especially given that most of our outfits as wedding guests are only worn once, it’s a great way to wear a beautiful lehenga or saree and be kinder to the planet!
